FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – DEC. 19, 2000

2001 – A WILDERNESS ODYSSEY. CANADIAN ECO-TOURISM COMPANY OFFERS WILDERNESS LUXURY HOLIDAYS TO DISCERNING ADVENTURERS.

Call Of The Wild, an innovative, international award-winning travel adventure company, is offering three new and exciting trips this year that are guaranteed to give you bragging rights around the water cooler. Imagine participating in a Photo Safari by Dogsled, led by an award-winning photojournalist! Or greeting 2001 on a wilderness odyssey with a week-long dog-sledding expedition.

“The type of people who are attracted to our trips are real go-getters, real successful personalities,” says Robin Banerjee, Head Guide for Call Of The Wild. “They are typically young at heart, and know what they want from life – and that doesn’t include sitting on a beach and watching it pass them by!”

The Photo Safari by Dog Sled was selected as an Official Runner-Up in the Canadian Tourism Commission’s “Best Winter Package in Canada” contest for the Ontario Region. It is an adrenalin rush as the dog-sled team lunges forward, the wind in your face with the forest silently gliding by. Combined with expert advice and guidance by a professional photojournalist, this program is geared to any budding photographer from beginner to advanced amateur level, and is co-sponsored by LoweAlpine, Fuji Film, and Photo Life Magazine. There is even a chance of having your photos published in an upcoming edition of Photo Life!

2001, A Dog Sledding Odyssey is a great way to greet the New Year. “We start off on dog sleds, like they did in the 17th century, and finish up in the 21st century,” said Mr. Banerjee. “This is a fun-filled odyssey through time and space, with no computers going ‘haywire’ to foul things up. We’ll leave Hal at home.”

“Fun With Fitness”, another “Best in Canada” winner, is a fun but relaxing fitness weekend that will ensure one will strengthen mind and body, as well as learn healthy living and exercise tips during indoor mini-sessions. Hands-on activities and games will take place outdoors in the beautiful environment of the Algonquin area. The fresh air and outdoor activity will leave participants feeling exhilarated and free from the stresses of work and home.

Accommodation for all trips is at the Algonquin Wilderness Eco-Lodge – a large, well-equipped rustic chalet, well off the beaten path on the southern edge of Algonquin Park. “The hot tub and sauna are a perfect way to end a hard day on the trails,” quipped Mr. Banerjee.
