There is something almost mystical about a wilderness camping trip in Ontario. Perhaps it has to do with the haunting cry of a loon drifting across an empty lake, or maybe it's the unforgettable sound of wolves howling in the far distance. Something reaches through Time and plucks at our ancestral memories. Whatever it is, you'll find that you feel much more in harmony with nature and with your own soul. After one of our "mini- vacations" you'll feel tired, but you'll be more relaxed than you have been in a long time!
We have a refreshing approach to eco-tourism. Instead of the usual tourist/guide relationship, we treat all our customers as friends (to make this easier we keep our groups small - 4 to 8 people). This means we run our trips a little differently - everyone is expected to fully partake in the adventure (including helping out with the portages and camp chores)! This is the best way for us to teach you the skills required for a wilderness camping trip - after all the best way to learn something is by doing it! Our trips are definitely geared towards people who prefer to experience life instead of read about it! Along the way we will show you how to start a cooking fire, how to set up a tent, and how to read a trail map. We will tell you the history of the park, and show you how to identify wild plants. Above all, we try to foster a greater understanding and respect for our quickly diminishing wilderness.
This piece of prose sums up our feelings so well that we could have written it ourselves (luckily a much superior talent immortalized it first!).
We have endeavoured to make this site as complete, and useful, as possible. It is basically our enhanced brochure. Any information we have in print is displayed in these pages. If you need more information, the brochure that we can mail to you won't contain anything that is not presented in this site (since everything is already here, including all our most up to date details), but we will gladly answer any questions that you may have. We will also be happy to put together the details for a custom trip for your group (large school group or small group of friends).
